training in Shotokan Karate in 1980 at Exmouth
Martial Arts Club affiliated to Karate Union of
GT Britain.
Trained
and graded under Sensei W.Higgins, B.Pointon,
A.Sherry and Kamasoe leaving in 1982 as 5th
Kyu.
Returned
to N.Ireland and joined All Ireland Karate Wado-Ryu (AIKW)
under Sensei Iwazaki training in Wado Ryu at
Larne Karate Club under Sensei Bob Rea.
In 1987
Larne Karate Club broke away from AIKW and became
affiliated to British Isles Karate Association (B.I.K.A)
under Sensei’s Chadwick and Schofield.
Was
awarded 3rd Dan in 1999.
Fought in
S.E England Championships, All Ireland Championships and
National Championships.
Holds
Level 1 Instructor Qualification in Spontaneous
Protection Enabling Accelerated Response System (S.P.E.A.R)
and teaches Personal Safety Protection in a full time
capacity.
Awarded
4th Dan in October 2010
